DDP Statement on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ Filing

By February 2, 2024February 12th, 2024No Comments

Today’s filing from DA Willis showed once again that there is no legal or factual basis for disqualification. Nothing that Michael Roman alleged about Willis and Wade has affected their indictments, prosecution, or what was heard by the grand jury. Regardless of what happened between Willis and Wade, it has no bearing on the case.

The calls for disqualification from Donald Trump and his co-defendant Michael Roman were, and remain, distractions that aim to delay the trial until the end of the year or later.  The rule of law, fair elections and democracy are at stake. The focus must remain on the facts.  The case must proceed to whatever conclusion is warranted by the law and the evidence.
