Large majority are following the hearings, and most consider the events of Jan 6 to be concerning
Washington, DC – Today, Defend Democracy Project and Public Policy Polling released a new poll showing the large majority of voters in Pennsylvania are paying attention to the hearings and a majority of Pennsylvania voters think that MAGA loyalists are responsible for January 6th in addition to just Trump, himself.
“Americans are following the hearings and know Donald Trump isn’t the only one who deserves accountability for the plot to overturn the election,” said Defend Democracy Project Communications Director Nicole Haley. “Across the country, Americans are finally learning the truth about what happened on January 6th and months leading up to that day and the ongoing criminal conspiracy to take away the right to choose who leads us.”
Other notable findings:
- 78% of voters say they have seen, heard, or read “a lot” or “some” of hearings, including 46% who say “a lot”
- 78% of Independents: “a lot” or “some”
- 63% of GOP: “a lot” or “some”
- 62% of Trump 2020 Voters: “a lot” or “some”
- A majority of voters (51%) say the problem with January 6th is a problem with Donald Trump and the members of the Republican party who are loyal to him, not just Trump himself.
- 64% are concerned (51% very) over Donald Trump lying about voter fraud
- 62% are concerned (48% very) over Trump raising money off the “Big Lie”
- 68% are concerned (54% very) over Trump demanding Pence overturn election
- 61% are concerns (50% very) over Trump-MAGA threats against local officials
- 61% are concerned (47% very) over GOP Members of Congress seeking pardons
