Washington, D.C. – Today, Defend Democracy Project released a new explainer that details why Lindsey Graham is testifying in front of a Fulton County grand jury tomorrow.
Over the past two years, Senator Lindsey Graham has been an integral part of the conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election results and put Donald Trump back into power.
He helped coordinate attempts to reject ballots from states across the country, culminating in the attack on the Capitol on January 6th. He is among the biggest players in the Fulton County, Georgia grand jury investigating “finding” votes for Trump in Georgia’s 2020 election process. And he has spent months attempting to avoid the law and avoid testifying, but finally, the time for Senator Graham to testify and be held accountable has come.
“MAGA Republicans, including Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham, have attempted to avoid accountability for far too long,” said Defend Democracy Project Communications Director, Nicole Haley. “Our democracy is in danger because of people like Senator Graham. He has set a dangerous precedent for future elections, continued to promote lies about the and deflect blame for the violence on January 6th. His testimony tomorrow to the Fulton County grand jury reaffirms that no one, including a sitting Senator, is above the law.”
