THIS WEEK: JANUARY 6TH HEARINGS AND THE ONGOING THREAT TO OUR COUNTRY
Defend Democracy Project Advocates, Former Ambassador Norm Eisen, and State Officials to Address The Midway Point of the Jan 6 Hearings and the Ongoing Threat to Our Country
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Defend Democracy Project will hold press briefings across the country to discuss the hearings of the Select Committee to Investigate the Events of January 6th and how this will impact all Americans. The ongoing threat by Trump and MAGA Republicans to influence the outcomes of elections is a threat to every American. As demonstrated in the hearings so far, Trump and his MAGA allies planned, promoted, and paid for a conspiracy to overturn the election, which they knew was illegal and unconstitutional but followed through with anyway.
The plot to overturn the will of the people is ongoing, with Trump’s allies in the states putting election deniers in charge of elections, passing laws making it harder to vote, and ensuring Republican legislatures have the final say over who wins. We must hold all individuals accountable for their actions, including past presidents, elected officials, and other state and federal officials.
Join us for virtual events to discuss what we have learned in the hearings so far.
