The briefing will also discuss ongoing threats to democracy
Washington, DC – On, Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10:30 AM ET, Norm Eisen, legal scholar and counsel in the first impeachment and trial of former President Donald Trump, Patrick Gaspard, CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Celinda Lake, President of Lake Research, and Leslie Dach, co-chair of Defend Democracy Project, will join a virtual press briefing hosted by Defend Democracy Project to discuss the second anniversary of the January 6th assault on the Capitol and the ongoing threat posed by MAGA Republicans.
The report from the January 6th Committee showed just how extensive the conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election was. As the speakers will lay out, Trump and his allies need to be held accountable for their roles as outlined in the Committee’s final report to make sure that something like the attack on the Capitol never happens again. We must also remain vigilant against ongoing threats to our democracy.
Join us as our experts discuss the January 6th Committee report, future actions to hold the people involved accountable for any and all wrongdoing, ongoing threats to democracy including gerrymandering and the assaults on the right to vote and administer free and fair elections from state legislatures across the country.
