Washington, DC – The Defend Democracy Project today released the third in a series of issue briefs ahead of the January 6 Committee hearings next month detailing how Donald Trump and his allies have spent the last several years carrying out an ongoing plan to make it easier for them to overturn elections they lose and make it more difficult for people to vote. The Defend Democracy Project was launched this year to work with leading organizations and noted experts to get the facts out about the attack on our country on January 6th, the ongoing criminal conspiracy to take away our freedom to choose our own leaders, and to hold Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans accountable.
Issue Brief No 3. “Trump and His Allies Are Engaged in an Ongoing Conspiracy to Sabotage Elections and Overturn Results in 2022 and 2024 ” lays out the ongoing conspiracy to overturn the will of the people by restricting voting and working to enact MAGA control over state election administration. The January 6th Select Committee is expected to build on this already robust evidence of the criminal conspiracy to overturn the legitimate results of an election which Donald Trump lost.
